Welcome. Serene Healing PLLC provides mental health services for adults in the state of Texas. Whether you are experiencing a particular life obstacle you’re trying to overcome, or you are someone who understands that we all have "blind spots," and would like a safe space to self-reflect with the goal of continuing self-improvement, Serene Healing PLLC was created with the goal and commitment to assist individuals set and/or work through their goals within a safe non-judgmental space. At this time Serene Healing provides services via tele-health. That is, instead of patients driving to the therapist's office, patients will log into an online platform at the time of each session and have their video sessions from the comfort of their home. While video sessions are recommended over audio, audio telephone sessions are also provided if seen appropriate and preferred by the patients.
Maria is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has been providing psychotherapy services
since 2005. Maria initially earned her Bachelor degree in Liberal Arts from
Rutgers University, double majoring in Psychology and Social Work. Following, she
completed a Masters degree in Social Work from New York University. Since then, Maria has
continued her education by staying up to date with different therapeutic skills and modalities.
Part of her continuing training include post graduate training in Clinical Work with
Adolescents and their families following evidence based tools, psychoanalytic training,
hypnotherapy, and specialized training in the treatment of trauma, Panic and Anxiety.
With an appreciation for both the ways in which as human beings we have so much in
common, yet we are also very unique, Maria believes in the importance to get to know each
person, instead of boxing the individual into a theory. As a result, Maria practices using an
eclectic approach, with the main focus on providing each person a safe place to discuss and
explore hopes, fears, wishes, set goals and work towards them at each individual’s pace,
within a safe, non-judgmental space.
